A Great Beginning Makes All the Difference
At the beginning of a new year or new season, start with what you have. What has God said to you? Write that down. It will give you strength as you move forward. If you don’t know yet, keep asking and expecting to hear and see what He is saying to you. (I say “is saying” because the Spirit of God is always speaking, but we aren’t always listening.) The truth is, a great beginning makes all the difference!
“Press with your faith, pray with confidence and make His Word the final authority in all you do. Start with what you have—you surely cannot start with what you do not have. Clarify your goal. Steady your thoughts. Make necessary decisions. Make necessary changes. It’s time to begin.” -Shirley Weaver
As I have stepped into 2017, God has been in my ears with the same message over and over…
- Learn to see the large in the small
- Start with what you have – “What do you have in your hand?”
- Rest in Me by trusting in Me – I know what you need
- Waltz with Me by keeping rhythm with the Spirit
- Trust Me to establish your foundation
- We’re building this destiny one step at a time
- Don’t despise the day of small beginnings
There’s an all-important stage between your Calling and Commissioning. It’s called Preparation and is the most important part of the journey. Don’t try to skip over any of God’s preparation for your life’s purpose. It’s those who are impatient that end up failing and falling. The preparation time gives you the experience, wisdom, and strength you will need to carry out the Purpose!
We all want to see our dreams grow to fulfillment, but if we don’t begin well and walk closely with the Father daily, we won’t see the potential of our life unpacked! To fulfill your God-destiny, be patient and willing to be led by Him in every moment.
Your destiny began in the heart of God and He wove the design into your spirit. You can trust Him to move you forward. So… “Start with what you have. Clarify your goal. Steady your thoughts. Make necessary decisions. Make necessary changes. It’s time to begin.”
When you make it to the top, the views and your praise to God will be spectacular! The journey will have changed you so that you can then be the most effective in what you are called to do.
A blessed and prosperous 2017 to you!
There’s grace for the journey,
From the desk by the window on a cool, rainy day in the South.
(A personal note: I heard my call from God in February 2005 and I prayed, worked, got training, and finally 9 years later in 2014, I began the work full-time. When His mark is on your life and He is building something within, you simply cannot afford to rush it. And He still telling me to “see the large in the small”. He is still making me ready for each new step. Believe me – it’s worth the journey!)
